What are your top 5 albums that you would consider masterpieces ?

And why ? BQ: How are you today ? @ Dan M Im not to bad thanks @ Dan M Im not to bad thanks 1. Pink Floyd - The Wall . It's a lyrical achievement and there are some great guitar parts by Gilmour. Plus there's a movie and the recent stage show by Roger Waters is incredible and just proves how great this album is
2. The Who - Quadrophenia - The band is in top form here and Townshend's songwriting is insane. Plus Keith Moon gets to sing.
3. Neil Young - Tonight's the Night - A drunken, out of tune tribute to the late Crazy Horse guitarist, Danny Whitten - a drug casualty. It's a haunting, sad, and painfull album and it shows in the performance.
4. Richard and Linda Thompson - Shoot out the lights... With their marriage in ruins, RT writes some of his best "love gone wrong" songs. It's the ultimate divorce album and Linda's voice is in top form.
5. David Bowie - Diamond Dogs ... Bowie's version of Orwell's 1984. These are some of Bowie's best lyrics and I believe this album to be mucho superior to Ziggy Stardust.

BQ. Am tired but I perked up a bit writing about my top 5 albums, thanks for the boost.
