Jefferson Starship

Posted: 14 Jan 2019 10:01 PM PST

This edition of Jefferson Starship (such as it was) included members of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (David Crosby and Graham Nash) and members of Grateful Dead (Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart), as well as some of the remaining members of Jefferson Airplane (Grace Slick

Dying Fetus is a brutal death metal band formed in 1991 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, United States. The line-up consists of John Gallagher (guitar, vocals), Sean Beasley (bass, vocals) and Trey Williams (drums). Dying Fetus’ music is a hybrid of death metal and grindcore, characterized by extremely fast blast beats, complex riffing and slow breakdowns. Lyrically-wise, the band dabbled in the usual gory death metal subject matter on their early albums, and respectfully covered "Born In A Casket," a song originally written by famous death metal band Cannibal Corpse.

Saliva

Posted: 14 Jan 2019 09:29 PM PST

The group was formed in September 1996 in Memphis, Tennessee. While Memphis was an unlikely place for a grunge / nü-metal band, Saliva was able to follow in the tradition of crafting hard rock songs in radio-friendly format popularized by the likes of Creed and Nickelback. After competing in the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Grammy Showcase competition, where they advanced to the final round in New York City, the group self-released their self-titled debut album which sold over 10,000 copies in their region, prompting Island Records to take notice.

Dana Gould (born August 24, 1966) is an American comedian and comedy writer born and raised in Hopedale, Massachusetts. His upbringing in the "weird little" factory town and the backward eccentricities of his extended family lent themselves to his stand-up routine, which has been seen on HBO, Showtime, and Comedy Central, among other places. Emily King

Posted: 14 Jan 2019 08:57 PM PST

King was born Emily Cowings to an international jazz duo, Marion Cowings and Kim Kalesti. Emily and her brother were always exposed to music, especially jazz and classical sounds during their childhood. "It was an amazing experience," she says. "It was very challenging. We went from the fanciest hotels one day, to the dirtiest motels the next day — you know, just living off a musicians paycheck. Also, being around so much incredible music. We were in the jazz world so I was with Dizzy Gillespie one day to Clark Terry the next day. It was my education."
