Blue Man Group

Blue Man Group is a creative organization centered on a trio of mute performers that present themselves in blue paint, latex bald caps, and black clothing. Friends Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton (collectively referred to as CMP) conceived the idea during the 1980s while in New York City. They began appearing on the streets in Blue Man regalia, entertaining passersby, staging unusual events such as "The Funeral For the 80s", and short bits in Tom Murrin’s "The Alien Comic’s" underground cabarets in "The CLUB" at La MaMa Experimental Theater Club.

The Reverend Horton Heat is both an American three-piece psychobilly band from Dallas, Texas, and the stage name of its singer/songwriter, Jim Heath (born in 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas). The group originally formed in 1985, playing its first gigs in Dallas’s Deep Ellum neighborhood. Its current members are Jim "Reverend Horton" Heath on guitar and lead vocals, Jimbo Wallace on the upright bass, and Scott Churilla on drums. Through relentless touring and a manic stage show, they have established themselves as one of the most popular underground acts in America.

The Pharcyde is a West Coast underground/alternative hip hop group. The group was formed in 1991 in South Los Angeles, California, United States, where the group’s members grew up. The group was one of the most well known of the first wave of alternative hip-hop acts. The original members of the group are "Slimkid3" (Tre Hardson), "Fatlip" (Derrick Stewart), "Imani" (Emandu Wilcox) and "Bootie Brown" (Romye Robinson). The group is best known for their hit singles "Passing Me By" (which crossed over to alternative rock radio) and "Runnin’", and their debut album Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde.

The history of the band dates back to 1998 when Sam Frisch and Jean Paul Makhlouf started a band with a couple of school friends called Full Moon. After two years of playing the band fell apart.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo, which was formed 1960 in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, have come to represent the traditional culture of South Africa. They are regarded as South Africa’s cultural emissaries at home and around the world. They are a national treasure of the new South Africa in part because they embody the traditions suppressed in the old South Africa.
It has been almost twenty years since Paul Simon made his initial trip to South Africa and met Joseph Shabalala, and the other members of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, in a recording studio in Johannesburg.

They began as Nontoxic in 2002, where they played for their elementary school talent show. Nontoxic consisted of Matt Schmalfeld, Kyle Gibson, Chuck Mordaunt, and Cole Wilson. They then reincarnated themselves as The Plaid, The Attachments, and finally Audacity.
