Michael Robert Henrion Posner "Mike Posner" (born February 12, 1988 in Southfield, Michigan) is an American singer and producer signed to J Records. He released his debut mixtape, Reflections of a Lost Teen, in 2006. His next two mixtapes, A Matter of Time and One Foot Out the Door, caught the attention of many major labels. His debut album 31 Minutes to Takeoff was released August 10, 2010. Posner graduated from Duke University in December 2009 with a BA in Sociology and Business. He is close friends with rapper Big Sean.

CHVRCHES (pronounced as "churches") are a Scottish alternative electronic band from Glasgow, formed in 2011. The group consists of Lauren Mayberry (main vocals, occasionally synths), Iain Cook (synths, vocals) and Martin Doherty (synths, vocals). Previously, Mayberry was vocalist for Blue Sky Archives. Cook was a member of Aereogramme and The Unwinding Hours. Doherty was a live member of The Twilight Sad. Mayberry did a four-year law degree, followed by a Masters in journalism. She’s also a trained drummer.

Young the Giant is an alternative rock band which formed in Irvine, California, United States in 2004. The band consists of Sameer Gadhia (vocals, percussion), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass) and François Comtois (drums). The band’s name is purposefully nonsensical; Gadhia explained it as a "leftfield idea" meant to evoke curiosity. The band released their debut self-titled album, Young the Giant, on 25 January 2011, which was preceded by a digital-only release in October 2010.

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) AFI (A Fire Inside) is an American punk rock/alternative rock band from Ukiah, CA that formed in 1991. Their career progression has taken them through notable and drastic changes in music styles from hardcore punk/horror punk to punk rock to alternative rock While in high school in Ukiah, California, David Marchand aka Davey Havok (vocals), Mark Stopholese (guitar) and Vic Chalker (bass) formed an outfit called AFI in 1991. Stopholese suggested his friend Adam Carson, who had a drum kit, join the band.

Death Cab for Cutie is an American indie rock band formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997. The band consists of Ben Gibbard (vocals, guitar, piano), Chris Walla (guitar, keyboards), Nicholas Harmer (bass), and Jason McGerr (drums). Death Cab began as a solo project of Ben Gibbard, now the band’s vocalist and guitarist. Gibbard took the band name from the satirical song Death Cab for Cutie, performed by The Bonzo Dog Band in The Beatles‘ 1967 experimental film Magical Mystery Tour.

Created in 1998 in Los Angeles, California, United States by Jared Leto and his brother, Shannon, 30 Seconds to Mars initially began as a small family project. Matt Wachter later joined the band as bassist and keyboard player. After working with a number of guitarists (including Kevin Drake and Solon Bixler), the band auditioned Tomo Miličević to complete the band’s official roster. After Wachter’s departure from the band in 2006, the Leto brothers and Miličević continue on as a trio with additional touring members, including Tim Kelleher on bass.

Third Eye Blind is a rock band formed in the mid 1990s in San Francisco, California. The original members were Stephan Jenkins (singer, songwriter, electric guitar), Kevin Cadogan (guitar), Adrian Burley (drums), and Jason Slater (bass guitar). The band’s original line-up changed several times before the release of the group’s debut album, and again shortly after the release of the band’s second album Blue — at which point the band’s main guitarist Kevin Cadogan was released from the band under circumstances that still elicit controversy among fans.

Aerosmith is a prominent American rock band. Three of the members, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Tom Hamilton first met in Sunapee, New Hampshire in the late 60’s, but it wasn’t until 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts, that the three decided to form a band together. Later they met up with Joey Kramer (drums) and Brad Whitford (rhythm guitar). The band enjoyed major popularity throughout the 1970’s, with rock anthems like "Dream On" – but they split from 1979-84 due to serious substance abuse and drug addictions that contributed to their decline.
