Van Halen ticket prices announced for Coliseum show
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Reserved tickets for the July 31 Van Halen show will cost $39.50, $69.50 or $99.50. Mayor Henry will also declare the date "Van Halen Day" in Fort Wayne.Â
Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, the Memorial Coliseum Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets or charge-by-phone at (800) 745-3000. Purchases made at Ticketmaster.com or over the phone will be subject to an additional fee.
The upcoming show has even gotten the attention of Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry who will issue a proclamation that day.
"With the Great Recession putting cities across America between a rock and a hard place, Fort Wayne took a page from the Van Halen play book to keep our community rocking. Guided by Eddieâs masterful guitar riffs, we used innovation and cost-savings to ensure a strong financial base. We imitated David Lee Rothâs iconic kick splits to showcase our incredible assets. And just as Van Halen added Wolfie, weâre building for the future with a vibrant downtown, great concerts and our own amazing Legacy fund. Rock on Van Halen," said Henry.
The opening act will be Ky-mani Marley, son of legendary reggae star Bob Marley.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1974, Van Halen changed the rock and roll landscape forever with the release of their self-titled, 1978 debut album. Displaying unparalleled stage presence, musicianship, and songwriting abilities, the band has sold more than 75 million albums sold worldwide and created a record of achievement that is hard to top. Van Halen joins an elite short list of two-time Diamond Award (10 million sales) honorees for their albums Van Halen and 1984. The band was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in March of 2007.Â
